Since its humble beginnings in 1970 with just one man and a van, Conaty Catering has grown into a prominent business in the Irish food service industry. With a workforce that has expanded from 80 employees in 2020 to 180 today and a fleet that now boasts 50 vehicles, the company has shown remarkable resilience and adaptability since starting up.

Their success is partly due to their strategic investments in technology, particularly during the challenging times brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. In recent years, the company has decided to invest heavily in technology to streamline operations and enhance customer service. They’ve been successful in building their own online platform and have been able to integrate this with MAM Software’s Autopart system – a versatile business management software that integrates sales, stock management, accounting and reporting. The move significantly improved order processing capabilities.

Daragh McIntyre, Head of Operations and Transport, explained, "We used to manually invoice everything through POS (point of sale), but Autopart allowed us to handle all orders through the back end of the system. This transition was crucial for us as it improved our efficiency and supported our growth."

In 2023, Conaty Catering took another significant step by adopting MAM Software’s ePOD (Electronic Proof of Delivery) mobile app through Autopart integration. This innovative solution, integrated with Driversboard- a real-time delivery management system- provided a seamless and efficient way to manage deliveries. It allowed drivers to access delivery details, obtain mandatory customer signatures and capture delivery notes and images — all in real-time.

"The big selling point for us was the live information," said Daragh. "The minute the driver presses sign or complete, we can see where the delivery was left. This real-time data eliminates disputes with customers about delivery locations and times."

Thanks to the expertise of MAM Software's team, the ePOD system is now fully optimsied for Conaty Catering’s needs. "Andy Garrett, who has been with us for the entirety of our journey with ePOD, knows the product inside out. We went live in the middle of March and have been happy with it ever since," Daragh noted.

The adoption of ePOD has given Conaty Catering a competitive edge, allowing them to provide quality customer service. "Our ethos is to always deliver the best service and ePOD helps us deliver on that promise. It allows our sales reps and customer service team to provide accurate, real-time information to customers without the need for constant phone calls."
